The 2026 Cancer Research UK London Winter Run brought unforgettable scenes to the capital this weekend. Despite the wintry weather, over 20,000 hit the streets for one of London’s most iconic winter events, and with the largest 10k in the UK falling on Valentine’s Day weekend, love was very much in the frosty air.

1️⃣Eddie the Eagle’s Appearance ⛷️

With the Winter Olympics currently in full swing over in Milan, it felt only right that one of Britain’s most iconic Winter Olympian’s made an appearance at one of London’s largest winter events. Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards brought a touch of Olympic nostalgia to the Cancer Research UK London Winter Run, swapping ski slopes for city streets as he cheered runners on.

The ski-jumping legend helped get the event off to an unforgettable start, posing for photos, meeting supporters, and channelling the underdog spirit that also embodies the Cancer Research UK London Winter Run, where anyone, no matter their pace or experience, can be a hero.

The events iconic polar bear mascots were out in full force, high-fiving finishers, dancing their way through Trafalgar Square and posing for hundreds of photos. The snowy-themed atmosphere wouldn’t be complete without them, and they were arguably the most hugged ‘celebrities’ of the day.
