Travel
Please plan your route well in advance and allow plenty of time for your journey, including the time it will take to walk from your arrival station or stop to the Bag Drop (bearing in mind you may need to wait quite a while to cross over the barriered run route at a crossing point to get to the Start Area depending on which station you use).
We encourage all participants to plan for plenty of extra time for travelling to the event as routes will also be more crowded than usual. Where possible we recommend that you use public transport.
The London Underground network (Tube) is the best and easiest way to get to and from the event for both participants and spectators.
If arriving after 9.45am and you are planning to use Charing Cross, or Embankment, or Leicester Square as your arrival station, then you will need to cross the run route to get to the Welcome Area (Trafalgar Square). Please either use a different station or build extra time into your journey for an additional wait at a crossing point.
A few days beforehand, please also check the Transport for London website for any planned engineering works which may affect your journey.
If you are travelling from outside London by rail we recommend using either London Waterloo or London Paddington stations. Both stations have Underground connections so you can quickly hop on a train to continue your journey. We personally would recommend using London Waterloo as you are able to walk directly to the start line within 18 minutes.
Please check for any disruption on your train journeys on the National Rail website here.
If you have to drive, please car share where possible and research a couple of different parking locations before setting off. The road closures in place for the event may cause delays or diversions – please ensure that you leave plenty of time for your journey. If you are arriving by taxi or being dropped off, please find a suitable and safe place to stop which is off of the main roads so that you don’t hold up the traffic.
Refer to the road closure map on our website for further information:
Please note:
There is no event parking or drop off zone. We recommend that you use public transport as the area is well served by tubes, trains & buses.
Bicycle parking facilities will not be provided. Anyone arriving by bike should use local public facilities for bike storage. Please do not use unofficial locations/railings or block entrances or walkways etc. with your bike. All bikes are left at your own risk. A couple of TFL Bike Hire stands will be suspended during the event, however these will mostly be the ones located directly on the run route.
