5 Things to Look Forward to on 25 February

It’s starting to get very real. The 2024 Cancer Research UK London Winter Run 10k on Sunday 25 February is going to be pretty special.

Shortlisting just five things to look forward to has been a test, but we’ve done our best in the article below. Don’t forget to tag us in your posts on social media and use #WinterRun so our team can see your amazing pictures.

  1. THE RETURN OF THE APRÈS PARTY

A celebration after you finish in Trafalgar Square. It features plenty of live music, including the sensational Planet ABBA banging out hits such as Waterloo, Dancing Queen, and Mamma Mia!

Between acts you can stretch out those tired legs with some professional cool downs led from our stage in front of the National Gallery.

  1. OUR BEST MEDAL YET

Our beautiful 2024 medal is waiting for everybody who finishes, straight after they cross the finish line on Whitehall. This year the ribbon features a special poem written by one of our participants.

  1. DOZENS OF WINTER CHARACTERS

You won’t be short of options when it comes to grabbing the perfect social media pic. London will come alive with larger-than-life winter characters including polar bears, huskies, yetis, penguins and more!

  1. LONDON CLOSED FOR YOUR 10K

This event is a special opportunity to explore central London with no traffic. The capital will stop so you can enjoy completing your 10K challenge and not worry about cars, buses, or bikes disrupting your adventure.

  1. LIVE MUSIC ON THE COURSE

There’s rarely a quiet moment on our 10-kilometre course. You’ll pass loads of performers including 20-person choirs, upbeat drum bands, and guitar playing singers. All are joining us to spur you on, and make this the most enjoyable 10k the UK has ever seen!
