How do I volunteer for this event?
We have a whole section of the website dedicated to volunteering, which contains volunteer specific FAQs as well as how to sign up. Click here for more info!
How do I know if I am entered into the event?
When you enter through our online system, you will receive an acknowledgement email from Active (our booking system) confirming your entry. You will receive email updates and a link to the race information as race day approaches. Please make sure the details we have for you are correct.
Why am I not receiving any email comms about my event?
We recently moved our race communication emails over to a brand new tool, which means the emails you receive are much prettier! However, if you have unsubscribed from any of our marketing emails in the past, we cannot legally email you about your event. If you are worried this is the case, you can resubscribe here.
I need to cancel my booking; can I get a refund?
Possibly. But please refer to our London Winter Run Withdrawals Policy for clarification.
When will race packs be sent out?
Packs will be posted out from approximately 3 weeks before the event up until the Tuesday before the event (29 January) and packs may arrive any day up until the day before the event. Please ensure that you provide us with the correct address.
What do I do if my race pack hasn’t arrived/I have an international address?
For ‘lost’ and international packs, there will be a pack pick up at the Strand Palace Hotel between 10:00am and 3:00pm the day before the event (Saturday 2 February). You will not be able to collect your pack on the day of the event. In the event that you are unable to collect your race pack the day before the event, someone can collect it on your behalf with a signed note providing permission from the original registrant. The original registrant must still run in the event. This is only a solution for pack collection and not a transfer model.
Will there be a secure area to store a bag?
Yes. The Bag Drop Area will be very busy, so if you plan on leaving a bag please allow extra time as there will be queues (plan for at least 15 mins in this area). Please note WE WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTING OFFICIAL LONDON WINTER RUN DRAWSTRING BAGS. These are included in your race pack, which will be sent out as detailed above. We are sorry but other bags including suitcases, backpacks, satchels, briefcases, or sports bags will not be accepted.
How will my time be recorded?
Your time will be recorded with UHF Chip technology. Your timing chip will be included in your race pack (attached to your race number) and your finish time will be texted to you after crossing the finish line. You will also be able to view your results online on the London Winter Run website.
Is there a cut off time for this event?
There is no set cut off time but we advise all runners to be aware that they will need to complete the course by 12.30pm. This is to minimise the impact on the local residents & businesses, as roads will begin to re-open shortly after this time.
Can I listen to music during the race?
Human Race strongly discourage the use of any equipment that acts as an impediment to hearing or concentration when competing. This includes, but is not limited to, mobile telephones, personal stereos and MP3 players. Human Race cannot be responsible for accidents resulting from taking part with such equipment.
I run a business along the Cancer Research UK London Winter Run route/close to the event village. Is there any way that I can get involved?
Yes, we’d love to hear from you and if you have any special offers for our participants, you can register the details here!
